Make · Week 2 — Building and Failing Forward

EngineeringDraftWhole groupWeek 2

Objectives

Wildlings begin constructing their build and treat each failure as useful data. The question is 'What did that failure just teach me?'

Materials

hand tools, build materials, build journal

Activities

Wildlings work hands-on with real tools to begin constructing their project. Coaches check in with a 'what's working, what's not' protocol rather than giving answers. A mid-week share-out lets Wildlings show a failed attempt and what they learned from it. Safety and tool-care routines are reinforced throughout. Journaling captures each day's build progress and problems encountered.

Coach notes

Frame failure explicitly as a hypothesis being tested, per the circle's thinking skill.
